The cutting edge of the jaw plate of the grab bucket is best made of ZGMn13 steel, heat-treated (heated to 1060-1100 ℃, then rapidly cooled in water) to obtain an austenitic structure, resulting in high toughness and wear resistance. For grabs handling loose, fine particles, the cutting edge can also be made of Q235 or Q345 steel. When special wear resistance is required, NM400 or NM500 wear-resistant steel can be selected.
The cutting edge is generally straight and planed with a cutting angle. Only on grab buckets handling large or solid bulk cargo are bucket teeth made of cast or forged steel bars.
The grab bucket teeth are usually fixed to the horizontal cutting edge by welding or bolting.
