Marine Crane

The structure of a marine crane generally consists of a frame, a positioning system, a drive system and a control system. The frame is the main body of the crane, which stabilizes the crane and supports other parts of the crane. Positioning systems are used to measure the position of the crane and convert it into an electrical signal to provide precise position feedback. The drive system is composed of motor, hydraulic system and transmission system, in which the motor is mainly composed of generator, engine, controller and driver. The control system is used to control the transmission and positioning of the crane, which includes sensors, controllers, operators and other components.

Advantage of Marine Crane

High loading and unloading efficiency. Due to its good positioning ability, it reduces the handling of goods in the cargo hold, and there is no need to frequently adjust the position of the suspension rod like the suspension rod device, which can cause loading and unloading operations to pause midway. At the same time, the crane can handle the operation of both the front and rear compartments.

Easy to operate. There is almost no preparation work before use. The operator operates in a high-position cab with a wide field of vision and powerful operation.

The layout of the deck is relatively simple and occupies a small deck area.

Especially suitable for lifting heavy cargo. Any container ship with lifting equipment must be a crane.

Types of Marine Crane

The following are the different types of marine cranes available for off shore and marine use.

1

Stiff boom crane

These are designed for general cargo handling and can be used on ships as well as offshore units.

2

Telescopic boom crane

Telescopic boom cranes can be hydraulic extended and retracted without a knuckle function.

3

Knuckle boom crane

Knuckle boom cranes can be found on vessels with a big deck area and are also used on fixed platforms. These are easy to maintain due to the fact that they have lesser joints.

4

Foldable telescopic boom crane

These cranes are designed to ensure constant torque moment, reducing the ‘pendulum effect’ of the load. They require minimum deck space.

FAQ

Q: How do I know about the production?

A: We will double confirm your requirements and send you the sample before the mass production.

Q: During the mass production, we will keep you informed of any progress. Besides, we will

A: Do 100% quality inspection before shipment.

Q: How can I know the status of my products?

A: We will keep you posted for the production progress like material purchasing, production status, delivery time, tracking number until you received the products.

Q: How does the control the quality?

A: During processing, the operating machine worker inspect the sizes by themselves.
After finished the first whole part, will show to QA for full inspection.
Before shipment, the QA will inspect according to ISO sampling inspection standard for mass production. Will do 100% full checking for small QTY.
when shipping the goods, we will attach the inspection report with the parts.

Q: How much can a ship crane lift?

A: A crane vessel, crane ship, crane barge, or floating crane is a ship with a crane specialized in lifting heavy loads, typically exceeding 1,500 t (1,476 long tons; 1,653 short tons) for modern ships. The largest crane vessels are used for offshore construction.

Q: How does a marine crane work?

A: Equipped with hydraulic cylinders powered by a pump when it's activated, high pressure hydraulic liquid is sent through the cylinders, causing them to extend and lift the load. On top of that, they also have cables and pulleys that move the load around both horizontally and vertically.

Q: What are the different types of marine cranes?

A: The offshore cranes production range includes: Stiff boom type, Lattice boom, Knuckle boom type, Telescopic cranes.

Q: Why do some ships have cranes?

A: Cranes are used to move and handle various heavy weight loads and also transfer materials or personnel to or from marine vessels, barges and structures. Various marine rigging companies offer a wide range of heavy duty cranes that can be used for off shore and marine operations.

Q: What do you call a crane on a boat?

A: Also known as a crane ship or crane vessel, floating cranes describe ships that include a mounted crane as part of the vessel. Floating cranes can also be installed on barges, and are used to load and off load goods and products after transportation.

Q: Why don't big ships use sails?

A: Sail technology faces several practical challenges on cargo ships, including cranes, wind direction constraints, crew training, stability and maintenance. Most tests of sail technologies are on passenger or ro-ro ships because masts, aerofoils or rotors on deck will obstruct cranes.

Q: How do cranes not tip?

A: By providing stability and balance, they prevent the crane from tipping over, even when lifting heavy loads. During operation, counterweights also help minimize vibration and shock from the load being lifted to ensure a secure and stable working environment.
