Shear grab hydraulic cylinder working principles

 

The working principle of the grab cylinder involves introducing hydraulic oil into the smag grab cylinder using a pressure-boosting lever (also known as a manual hydraulic pump). Due to the action of a check valve, the hydraulic oil can only flow in one direction, pushing the piston upwards and thereby converting hydraulic energy into mechanical energy. When descent is required, the hydraulic valve is opened, allowing the hydraulic oil to return to the reservoir, enabling the reverse motion of the cylinder.

 

Specifically, once the hydraulic oil enters the hydraulic cylinder, the locking action of the check valve prevents it from flowing backwards, forcing the piston rod to move upwards. As the piston rod ascends, the pressure inside the hydraulic cylinder gradually increases until it reaches the required working pressure. When descent is needed, by controlling the opening and closing of the hydraulic valve, the hydraulic oil is allowed to return to the reservoir, thus achieving the downward motion of the piston rod.
