ENJUE's Semi-automatic Spreader Has Been Deployed At The Port Of Surabaya, Significantly Improving Container Loading And Unloading Efficiency.

Aug 13, 2025

Shanghai Enjue Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. (ENJUE) announced that its independently developed semi-automatic container spreader has officially entered operation at the Port of Surabaya, Indonesia, marking a key step in the intelligent upgrade of Southeast Asian port equipment. Designed specifically for hook-type cranes, this innovative device utilizes a mechanical twistlock and four-point wire rope sling system to significantly improve container loading and unloading efficiency, providing technical support for Surabaya Port to meet its continued growth in throughput demand.

Technological Breakthrough: Unpowered Design, a Qualitative Leap in Operational Efficiency
The ENJUE semi-automatic spreader utilizes an ISO standard 20-foot/40-foot universal design. Its core innovation lies in its mechanical twistlock mechanism. By pulling a wire rope to control the twistlock's opening and closing, operators no longer need to manually hook or unhook the spreader, reducing single-operation time to 60% of that of traditional spreaders. According to field data, at the Port of Surabaya, with an average daily handling volume of 4,000 TEUs, this device saves eight hours of manual operation time, equivalent to reducing the workload of three operators. Crucially, the device requires no power supply or crane circuit modification, making it highly adaptable and directly mountable on existing hook-type cranes.

Green Upgrade: Low-Carbon Equipment Aligns with Regional Development Vision
The ENJUE semi-automatic spreader features a power-free design, reducing annual CO2 emissions and complementing Indonesia's green logistics strategy. At the opening ceremony, the Director of the Planning Department of the Surabaya Port Authority emphasized, "This type of innovative equipment is a key component in building an eco-friendly port. Over the next three years, we will prioritize purchasing Chinese equipment that meets RCEP environmental standards."
This collaboration marks another milestone in ENJUE's semi-automatic spreader technology exports. As a company with over a decade of experience in port machinery research and development, its products have been sold to more than 30 countries worldwide. The Indonesian Marketing Director stated, "Semi-automatic spreaders are highly compatible with Indonesia's 'Maritime Highway' port upgrade plan. We are working with local partners to develop electric spreaders and intelligent hopper systems jointly." Notably, this equipment exhibits significant synergy with local logistics technology platforms like Waresix. Real-time monitoring of loading and unloading data through the Internet of Things (IoT) provides a foundation for algorithmic route optimization.
