what is a single rope grab
Single Rope Grab is suitable for all kinds of bulk goods on single reel cranes and can be used in any harsh environment. The grab can replace manpower in handling bulk materials such as yellow sand, coal, bulk fertilizer, mineral powder, etc.
Single-rope grabs only through a rope to achieve all its actions, the structure is relatively simple, relying on its self-weight and pulley, and the role of the wire rope to achieve the opening and closing mechanism, generally heavier weight, simple operation.
Structural features
The grapple mainly comprises a bucket body, jaw plate, spreader bar, connecting ring, and other parts.
The bucket body is the main part to hold the material, usually in a semi-cylindrical shape.
A jaw plate is installed in the opening of the bucket body, used for grabbing and clamping materials, generally made of wear-resistant materials, spreader bar connects the jaw plate and the bucket body, and plays the role of support and transmission, so that the jaw plate can be open.
The connecting ring is located at the top of the grab, used to connect with the hoisting rope of the crane, also known as the single-rope landing open grab.

- Material density: 0.8t/CBM to 2.8t/CBM
- Grab bucket body: Made of high-strength wear-resistant steel plates, such as Q345B.
- Grab's jaw plate: Adopts more wear-resistant alloy steel, such as Mn13, etc. Consider edges with teeth or bumps that can be replaced.
- Pulleys: Consider rotational flexibility, low friction, and sufficient strength and wear resistance.
- Rope: The length, the winding method, and the position of the gravity center of the grapple.
