It connects to the top corner castings of standard marine shipping containers via special locking pins (twistlocks), enabling safe lifting and movement of containers. This allows cranes, reach stackers, or straddle carriers to pick up containers rapidly for loading, unloading, and stacking operations across various work sites.
How does it work?
The spreader is suspended beneath the crane hook. The crane operator maneuvers the spreader and positions it directly above the container.
The telescopic arms of the spreader descend to align with the container top corner castings. Twistlocks insert into corner holes and rotate to securely fasten the four corners of the container.
