Scientific ratio of winch force and ship weight

Marine-Ship-Standard-Electric-Windlass-Mooring-Anchor-Winches-with-CCS-Rmrs-Certificate

Electric Winch Basic Calculation Formula
The required force of the winch needs to cover the following resistance (refer to "Slipway Process Design")
Slope ship transfer: force = (ship weight + equipment weight) × sinα (slope angle) + friction resistance + wind resistance
Water positioning: force = starting inertia force + wind resistance (1000kgf/m² wind-receiving area) + water resistance (related to water flow speed)
Example: If the ship weighs 50 tons and the slope angle is 10°, the basic force requirement for land ship transfer is about 8.7 tons, and water positioning needs to consider the influence of wind and waves.
Experience ratio recommendation
General scenario: The winch force is recommended to be 1.5~2 times the ship weight (consistent with the selection logic of off-road vehicles).
Special working conditions:
Salt water environment: add a 20% margin to cope with performance degradation caused by corrosion.
