Dredging grab classified by drive motor mode
Mechanical grapples
The jaw plate opening and closing are driven by a wire rope or chain, which has a simple structure but low control accuracy and is suitable for shallow water or low-intensity work.
Typical applications: dredging of small rivers, maintenance of wharves.

Hydraulic grapples
Driven by hydraulic cylinders, it has a large gripping force, fast closing speed, and precise control, which is suitable for deep-sea or high-density material excavation.
Advantages: The gripping force can be adjusted in real-time, reducing material leakage, and adapting to complex working conditions (such as hard clay, or rock).
Electric grab
It is driven by a motor, which is environmentally friendly and energy-saving, but has high requirements for waterproofing and corrosion resistance, and is mostly used in offshore or freshwater environments.
