Three Forms Of Cantilever Cranes

Oct 06, 2024

Cantilever cranes are currently the most common type of cranes. They are mainly column-type, balanced, and wall-mounted cranes. Each form has more or less differences. Let's introduce them in detail.

First, there is the column-type cantilever crane, which is a cantilever crane composed of a column and a cantilever, in which the cantilever can rotate around a fixed column fixed on the base, or the cantilever and the rotating column are rigidly connected and rotate together relative to the vertical center line in the base support. It is mainly suitable for occasions with small lifting weights and circular or fan-shaped operating ranges. It is usually used for workpiece clamping and handling of machine tools, etc.

Secondly, the balance crane, also called the balance crane, uses the principle of a four-bar linkage mechanism to make the load and the balance counterweight form a balance system, and can use a variety of hoists to flexibly and easily lift the load in three-dimensional space. The balance crane is more lightweight and flexible, and is an ideal type of crane for lifting small items. It is widely used in machine tool loading and unloading, parts assembly, docks, warehouses and other occasions in factory workshops.

In addition, a wall crane is a cantilever crane fixed to a wall, or a cantilever crane that can run along an elevated track on a wall or other supporting structure. Wall cranes are mainly used in workshops and warehouses with large spans and high building heights, and are more suitable when lifting operations are frequent near walls. Wall cranes are often used in conjunction with beam or bridge cranes above.
